Amro Porto shortlisted for Sustainability Award

The awards were established in 2016 to celebrate, recognise and promote organisations and initiatives at the forefront of the student housing and shared living sectors.

Best Sustainable Student Property celebrates the innovative student housing projects that have most successfully incorporated sustainability throughout their design, construction and operation, paving the way for next generation living.

At Amro, we embed sustainability from the very start of the design process, requiring our entire team, from design to finance, contractors to facility managers, to work together holistically right through to the operational stage and beyond. We take a fabric-first approach to sustainability and never stop looking for improvements.

We’re proud that for Amro Porto, we achieved a 39% reduction in predicted and actual operational energy usage between the design and construction stages. Since opening earlier this year, it has become the first new building in Portugal to achieve a full suite of sustainability ratings including BREEAM Outstanding, EPC ‘A’, Fitwel 3* and WiredScore Platinum.
