The Project

Purpose-built student housing development situated in the Paranhos area of Porto, within the city’s main university hub.

Designed to be one of the most sustainable new buildings in Iberia, Amro Porto is a 151-bed student housing scheme comprising a mixture of individual studios, twodios and doubles with amenities including study rooms, terraces, gym, padel court and green outdoor spaces. Five higher education institutions are located within a 15 minute walk: University of Porto, University Fernando Pessoa, Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Catholic University of Porto and Portucalense University.

Amro Porto is designed to be the most sustainable student accommodation development in Portugal, setting a new sustainability standard in the PBSA sector. Amro Porto is completely free from fossil fuel requirements for operational energy demand. GHG emissions are aligned with the the CREEM 1.5-degree pathway and the building has been designed following a fabric-first approach to reduce energy demand. On-site renewable energy systems include horizontal and vertical photovoltaic panels and off-site electricity procurements come from 100% renewable sources.
